Problem Note 36147: Preview query results in SAS® Enterprise Guide might display unexpected results
When you preview query results in SAS Enterprise Guide, you might not see expected results even though the actual query output is correct. For example, the preview results might contain fewer rows than the specified default number of rows. In addition, rows might be missing if the query includes joined tables.
By default, the Number of rows to display in preview results window option (under Tools ► Options ► Query) is set to 25. When this value is set to 25 or lower, you might see less than 25 rows in the preview.
You also might see incorrect preview results when you create a right or left join. In this case, you might see correct data from one table but values will be missing from the another table. This problem can occur when the two joined tables do not have an equal number of rows.
These problems only appear in the preview results of the query builder. The actual query results are correct. To correct the problem with the number of rows in the preview, you can select Options ► Defaults for All Queries in the query builder, and then type the number 26 into the Number of rows to display in the preview results window box.
